Hey-o, Word-wielders,
The time has come for my second character interview, this one with Tobias, a major character in My Only Name is Honor.
A little background info: Tobias is advisor to the crown prince of Siana Kingdom, Amaury. He loves God, but needs to learn to loosen up.
Me: "Hello, Tobias."
Tobias: *bows politely* "Hello ma'am. Are you faring alright?"
Me: "Rather wobbly on this ship. The Aveline, right?"
Tobias: "Yes."
Me: "Mind if I ask you some questions?"
Tobias: "Alright."
Me: "What's it like being advisor to Prince Amaury?"
Tobias: "I spend a lot of time with him. He'll usually ask for my advice on things, we'll go riding on Emberlyn Castle grounds. I travel to other cities throughout Siana."
Me: "But what is it really like? That's just what you do."
Tobias: *looks down* "Sometimes I wish he'd listen to me more. He often goes out with his raucous friends in the evening to pubs and such. Sometimes he allows me to come."
Me: "You're telling me you want to go to the pub?"
Tobias: "No, not like that. If I go, I can at least attempt to stop some of their wild ideas if I come. If I don't, I dread that one day Amaury's going to come back far worse than drunk."
Me: "I see. But I thought Amaury hardly listened to anyone. Why does he even sometimes listen to you?"
Tobias: "Well, Amaury's got more behind him than most people see. He's angry at his father, King Tiernan, for marrying Queen Rosae so soon after Queen Aveline died. He hates people demanding that he do things."
Me: "But I've seen you reprimanding you. He listens."
Tobias: "After four years or so I've gained some privileges."
Me: "How long do you plan on being his advisor?"
Tobias *looks off, biting his lip* "I don't know, but I hope one day I can find a way to leave the position."
Me: "What would you do then?"
Tobias: "I would search for what I left behind, and I would search until I found him, or what happened to him."
Me: "Him? Who's him?"
Amaury: "Tobias, I need my maps!"
Tobias: "Forgive me; I need to leave."
And that's Tobias's interview. Let me know what you thought in the comments.
May you live for Christ and give Him praise!
