Hey-o, Word-wielders,
You may remember my very first blog post, 7 Free Resources for Writers, where I talked about exactly that. And today, I have five more resources to assist you, all free. Ready? Let's go.
1. ProWritingAid
This is like a writer's version of Grammarly. It not only checks your grammar and spelling, but you can also check your bad adverb usage, alliteration use, and more. It even has the option to ai review your chapter, which, while shouldn't replace human review, can assist you in your writing. It has a free version, but it doesn't have all the perks of the paid version.
2. Inkarnate
Fantasy writers, this is a program you may come to adore. Inkarnate is a fantasy map creator. It also has free and paid versions, but with the free version you can create up to ten maps for personal (not commercial) use. You can use your maps for commercial use with the Pro version. I used this program to create the map of Honor's world from My Only Name is Honor.
3. Webador
While this isn't exactly a writer's resource, you can use this website creator to make a author website and/or blog. There is a free version, but if you want to pay it starts at $6.50 a month (at least for me). In fact, Webador is what the website creator I use for Write the Good Fight.
4. Kindle Writing Tips: Book Writing Tips and Tricks for Indie Authors by Alex Foster
This is an eBook you can find for free on Kobo. It related (as the title says) to Kindle Writing, and may not be up-to-date as it published in 2017. However, it does have some useful tips. Find the link here.
5. The Young Writer's Guidebook: Words of Wisdom From Authors, Editors, Agents, and Publishers by Brett Harris
This is a free downloadable PDF with contributions from young authors, Editors, Agents, and more. You can read it on your computer, phone, or ereader, or print it out. All you have to do is provide your email. Find the link here.
That's your five free resources. Let me know what you thought in the comments below, and tell me what you like to use in your writing journey.
May you live for Christ and give Him praise!
