Hey-o, Word-wielders,
Today is more of a personal-style blog post. I'm going to be showing you peeps the supplies I use to write. Pencils, notebooks, etc.
Now, you either be a) Rolling your eyes because you don't care. b) Really excited because it's fun to see what supplies writers have. c) Something else. Or a combo.
Onto the supplies.
Notebooks
Notebooks, notebooks, notebooks. I am a fan. I have lots of them, from memo books to my personal fav, a green floral one. I typically am either gifted notebooks or buy cheap, dollar-store ones, but after purchasing said fav notebook, I will be buying more expensive (and prettier) ones.
A lot of my notebooks have a distinctive purpose. I have my generic story-planning notebook (whose cover is falling off), my notebook for My Only Name is Honor, my poetry notebook (the floral one!) and more. To the side is a photo of some of my notebooks.
Pencils, Pens, and More
I am a bit of a pen snob. In 2022, I discovered ballpoint gel pens for writing, and I loved them. I have a stash of them, mainly Sharpie pens. I also have a pretty blue pen I received as a gift from my friend, an empty calligraphy pen (maybe I'll buy more ink someday) and more.
As for pencils, I prefer mechanical ones. All of mine are cheap ones, which serve my purpose fine. I also have a stash of extra leads.
For erasers, I either use the ones on the pencils, or a simple white block eraser.
I have some pastel Sharpie highlighters as well, which so far I haven't really used for my novel-writing (I use them elsewhere.)
Other Stuff
I own three binders. One is full of the first draft of a novel I wrote 2021-2022, the second one is full of poems, stories, unfinished stuff, and the first draft of Daughters of Irin, and the third one is mostly empty. I also have a file folder for putting planning papers from My Only Name is Honor.
I also use my laptop a lot for writing (like for this blog.)
I have sticky notes, but so far have not put them to writing-related use. I can definitely see uses for them though.
Lastly, I know this doesn't fit the way all the other materials do, but it's more important than all of them to being a Christian writer: God's Word. The most important book we can ever read.
So, that was a lot of pictures. Hope you enjoyed it, and let me know in the comments what you use for your own writing.
May you live for Christ and give Him praise.
~Claira
