Prompt Time: 10 Story Starters

Published on 9 September 2024 at 11:50

Hey-o, Word-wielders,

In my last post I'm Stuck! Ways to Help Overcome Writer's Block, one of the suggestions was to use prompts to kickstart ideas. Today, I'll be sharing with you 10 starting line prompts. You can use them exactly as they are, modify them, or just let your brain wander with ideas from these short story starters.

3, 2, 1, blast off!

  1. I had a problem. Of course, I always had problems. The thing was, I didn't know how to fix this one.

  2. The lantern light was dim in the mists of dawn. It felt to Elade like her own heart, pale and dying.

  3. Rule number one: always brings crocs.

  4. I am afraid of only two things: drowning and rubber ducks.
  5. "What in the world did you do that for?!" Jaxon's brother screamed.

  6. Being queen was never my intention. I'm not quite sure how it happened either.

  7. Nobody could truly understand Maraya's hawks, not even Maraya herself.

  8. Playing video games with an ancient French princess is always strange, to say the least.

  9. I know the names of no one in my village, not even my sister's.

  10. The number on Rowley's phone glared up at him, a number he hadn't seen in a long time. Do I take the call or leave it?

May you live for the Lord and give Him praise
